My experience with bans has been quite a mixed bag. I started off with flying colors and receive quite a bit of traffic to my site but as time goes on I'm finding it more and more difficult to find creative ways to bring traffic to my site. I have tried various methods such as social bookmarking you to video channels and almost everything under the sun. The most successful thing I tried by far was using the Kijiji classified software that would auto submit ads in multiple categories. But this success was very short-lived as almost all my ads were quickly taken down. So I learned a very valuable lesson after spending my $100 on this software. It's just not worth it. Anything done by computer can be detected by computer. So the moral of the story is if you want to truly get valuable traffic to your website it is of imperative importance that you write original content that people truly find useful. There are no shortcuts around this issue. Perhaps there is one shortcut if you consider hiring somebody to write original content for you but even this has quite a number of downfalls potentially. There is no way of knowing whether or not the content is 100% original. It's really a bit of a leap of faith. For me and my situation as I have less and less time to write my own content and I start to run out of ideas I will look for competent writers who are willing to write for my sites. I have been experimenting and looking on Digital point forums. This is a hugely popular Internet forum where people who are interested in Web marketing mean though and exchange ideas. This Internet forum covers a wide spectrum of issues faced by Web marketers. Take a look at this website as I have. It has become a invaluable source for ideas and inspiration for my Web marketing.
Getting back to bans site's and eBay affiliate marketing programs. Here are some of my statistics so far. I have earned close to $300 for about three months of work. Not bad considering my efforts in the past however I am far from making a full-time living from this. In total I have about 5000 clicks. This statistics indicates how many times somebody has clicked on one of the eBay listings on my bans site. Generally as one would expect the higher dismember gets the better. Nobody has any control over earnings but they do have control over how many clicks to get. Click simply indicate people who are browsing and who are mildly interested in the listings you have on your site.
Impressions are also a very useful statistic is well. This shows you how many times a widget has appeared on one of your websites. This is a good indication about how much traffic your particular website is getting. I run a number of social networking sites so I find this information useful.
I have also been experimenting with adsense ads on my bans sites. Adsense is not really a huge moneymaker but it is important and can generate a fair bit of income if you have a hugely popular website. Every little bit counts and adsense is definitely a solid earner.
I have also been experimenting with commission Junction. This is a website that collects a number of affiliate programs conveniently on one website. You can choose any nische that may be associated with your website. I was very enthusiastic to use this website to earn some extra income but sadly I have not earned a single penny from using it. Last time I checked I had over 17,000 impressions but I haven't heard a single cent. So I have all but given up on earning money from this website. However I do check in from time to time. I'm sure something is wrong but I'm just not sure what it is.
